Plazuela de Ocucaje
The district of Ocucaje was founded on May 18, 1984, and is known for its significant agricultural production. Among its most important crops are the pallar, chickpeas, beans, corn, and pumpkins, as well as fruits such as grapes, mangoes, figs, dates, watermelons, pacay, and pomegranates. Additionally, Ocucaje is renowned for its artisanal wineries, where excellent piscos and wines are produced.
Due to the high quality of its legumes, it has earned the title of “The World Capital of Legumes.” In the district, you can also find an impressive monument of a great white shark, which honors Ocucaje’s rich paleontological heritage, as numerous scientifically significant fossil remains have been discovered in this area.
