Cachiche Avenue

Cachiche, an esoteric village in Ica, gained fame in the 19th century for its witches who practiced Yunga magic, using herbs and amulets to cure illnesses and the evil eye. The first witches arrived in the region due to the persecution of women accused of witchcraft during the Spanish Inquisition. Today, the practice of witchcraft has resurfaced, especially with the growing interest in alternative medicine since the 1980s. The village features a theme park where statues of famous witches, such as Julia Nazaria Hernández Pecho, and representations of various witches, such as those of love, wisdom, and wealth, are displayed. It is also known for its huarango trees and date palm trees, whose winding branches feed into local legends of sorcery.
