Tambo Colorado Administrative Center

Tambo Colorado, which translates to “red town,” was one of the most important administrative centers of the Incas on the coast. This complex of rammed earth and adobe buildings features red decoration on its walls, and its doors and niches display the typical Inca trapezoidal shape. Some areas may contain elements predating the Incas.
