The Cathedral
The Cathedral is an iconic rock formation caused by the erosion of the sea and wind over time. Its concave shape resembles the domes of cathedrals. It is located in the Paracas National Reserve, near Pisco. This structure, shaped by marine erosion, originally had a similar shape to a cathedral dome. It was a landmark of the region until the 2007 earthquake, which destroyed its main arch and dome. Although it no longer retains its original structure, the site remains an important tourist attraction within the reserve, offering stunning views of the cliffs and the ocean.
